Can you write me a tutorial?

Tutorial writing takes a lot of time and preparation. Your best bet would be to use a search engine to look for the one you need. There are probably thousands of them out there.

What are your policies on your tutorials, scripts, etc.?

All content and images are copyrighted by me, unless otherwise noted. You are free to link to the tutorials but do not copy them to your site. Do not script any tutorial unless it is for personal use. Maintain all copyright notices and readme files on downloaded items.

Site Version

1.0 - RusTech

Rustech

My very first web site. The entire site was coded in XHTML strict but only worked well in IE. It's not eye-pleasing, but hey, we all got to start somewhere. I'm not exactly sure what kind of look I was going for. The metal techy look was inconsistent with the borders, navigation was a boring left menu and the whole look was quite dull. Luckily, I quickly scraped the design and decided I needed to get with the times and upgrade to... color!

2.0 - CryoGel

CryoGel

This was my second attempt at a web site. It had a more varied color scheme and a straight forward, easy-to-use interface. Each page had a different color scheme but none of the colors clashed and actually complemented each other well. The design was fluid with CSS mouseovers. However, I felt it used some unnecessary graphics and everything was generally big. I decided to trim the fat and subdue the colors for version 3 while keeping the general layout.

3.0 - RetroHaze

Retrohaze

I wanted to keep things simple for this version but the site ended up looking too bland for a graphics site. The only real graphics element was the header but it looked boring to me since it was just my Graffiti tutorial. The best parts of the site was that it was extremely fast loading and the interface was easy to use. I liked the layout so much that it would become the foundation for the next incarnation, Fuchsiagami.

4.0 - FuschiaGami

Fuschiagami

I chose a pink/fuschia color scheme for this version since pink sites are rare and I wanted to see if could pull off a good looking site by primarily using those colors. The graphical concept of the site was to use metallic oragami-like designs. The style was very eye-catching as shown by the header logo and menu. The title bars were created by using my Tech Panel tutorial. I was very happy with this version but some people felt the blends of pinks and purples were a bit much. I personally like colorful sites but decided to use darker colors for the upcoming Bluespill.

4.2 - BlueSpill

Bluespill

This is a version that never went live. It has the same layout as Fushiagami, but with darker colors and cleaner lines. The logo reminded me of the evil-looking bunny from Donnie Darko. Although the color scheme looked good, it was a bit too monochromatic for my taste. But if I were to do a monochromatic color scheme, I would use the typical white, which tends to look cleaner, along with the fact that I have never used white in the main body on any of my previous sites. So that's what I decided to do for the next version....

4.7 - SpacePod

SpacePod

This is another version that never went live. I was very close to using this version but it felt a tad bit gray and cold for my taste. Not much to say about this design except that it was probably my least cluttered design to date.
