PSP9 TUTORIALS
Pixel Stretch
1. Create a New 1024x768 image with a White Background. Create a New layer. Put down any image of your choice. I used the butterfly tube.
Press S to activate the Selection Tool. Reset the Tool by pressing Presets in the Tool Options palette, then press the Reset to default button. Create a 1 pixel Width selection. Make sure the height extends past any part of the image. Press Ctrl+Shift+C to Copy Merged. Next, press Ctrl+V to Paste As New Image. This will be our stretched pixel.
2. Go back to your original image. Press the "Custom selection" button in the Tool Options palette. Make sure "Use current selection as default" is checked. Increase the Right value to however many pixels you want the stretch to be. (The total width is the difference between the Right and Left values)
3. Set your Background to the following Pattern.
Settings used:
- Pattern = Image2 (or whatever number the image is that you pasted as a new image in step 1.)
- Angle = 0
- Scale = 100
Press F to activate the Flood Fill Tool. Fill the selection with the Pattern. Press Ctrl+D to Select None.
4. That's it! This last step is optional if you would like a mirrored image.
Press R to select the Crop Tool. Crop your image so that there is some empty space to the right (like the image in step 3)
Go to Effects | Reflection Effects | Rotating Mirror... Press the "Reset to Default" button. Set the Rotation Angle to 180.
Now you can do a Pixel Stretch.
