PSP9 TUTORIALS
Postage Stamp
1. Create a new 300x400 image with a white background. Set the foreground to black and the background to a gradient of your choice. I used these settings.
Settings used:
- Gradient = Duotone Ivory
- Angle = 135
- Repeat = 0
- Style = Linear
- Invert = Unchecked
Use the Rectangle tool to create a rectangle in the center of the canvas. Make sure the width is set to 1 and Create As Vector and Anti-Alias are checked. When the rectangle is in place, convert the layer to raster.
2. Go to Effect | Distortions Effects | Wave... Use the following settings for both Horizontal and Vertical Displacement.
Settings used:
- Amplitude = 1
- Wavelength = 9
- Edge Mode = Transparent
Press Ctrl+A, Ctrl+F, then Ctrl+Shift+F to create a selection. Press Ctrl+H to Feather the selection by 8. Now Gaussian Blur by 2. Finally press Ctrl+D to select none.
3. Press S to select the Selection tool. Create a rectangular selection within the serrated edges of the stamp. Go to Effects | 3D Effects | Buttonize... and use the following settings:
Settings used:
- Height = 4
- Width = 4
- Opacity = 75
- Edge = Transparent
Now Gaussian Blur by 2.
4. That's it! To add your image, paste it as a new layer and resize it using the Deform tool. Don't forget to add some typography to complete the look.
Now you can start sending graphics to the web, first-class, with some slick postage stamps.
